Description Răzvan Sandu 2012-09-06 08:44:06 UTC
Description of problem:

IMHO, OneSwarm should be the default BitTorrent application in Fedora.

OneSwarm (http://www.oneswarm.org) is a *distributed* P2P BitTorrent client that protect users' *privacy* and online *anonimity* . This makes it different from other P2P clients.

OneSwarm is cross-platform (written in Java - versions for GNU/Linux, Windows and Mac are directly available).

OneSwarm is Free Software and its UI is very similar to Azureus Vuze (smooth learning curve for new users).

IMHO, OneSwarm should be the default BitTorrent application in Fedora (packed as RPM, with dependencies to Fedora's default Java packages and available in official repositories).

Still, we can't include it unless there is a willing maintainer for it. (I didn't see it in the repository.)

If you're interested in becoming a Fedora project package maintainer, see the instructions at:
  http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Join#OS_Developer

In the meantime, I've added this to the Package Wishlist at:
  https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Package_maintainers_wishlist#N-O

Closing as 'deferred' until someone picks up the package.
