308 kernel guest reboot failed when there is high stress on host after running for a whole night
Unfortunately, RHEL5 is not as good as RHEL6 with high load, and KVM suffers from this too. We closed several such bugs, and closing this one too. Thanks, Ronen. Just a FYI, test suggest this situation exists in latest 5.8.z, so this is not regression. Test with: 2.6.18-308.14.1.el5 kvm-83-249.el5_8.5 |

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): -------------------------------------------------------------- kernel-2.6.18-339.el5 How reproducible: ------------------ 100% Steps to Reproduce: --------------------- 1. add stress on rhel5.9 host: stress --cpu 8 --io 4 --vm 2 --vm-bytes 128M 2. boot a rhel5.9 guest 3. guest gets stuck at booting, see screen shot in attachment 4. after stopping stress, guest still can not boot Additional info: ----------------- I once met guest reboots failed at rebooting when there is heavy stress with kernel 308 in guest, step to reproduce: 1. add stress on rhel5.9 host 2. boot this guest with 308 kernel, guest boots correctly 3. wait for a whole night, reboot the guest 4. guest get stuck at rebooting 5. screen shot is in attachment. For when there is stress guest cannot boot with 339 kernel, i am not sure this is the same with 339.
