Description of problem:
RHEV by default blocks the creation of VMs with dots "." in the VM name.
The reason is  we use the VM name to provide a hostname when a VM is deployed with sysprep, and dots aren't supported in hostnames.

In fact, according to the RFCs, only a-z and the hyphen char are supported:

virt-v2v, when importing a VM with dots in the VM name, puts it with these dots in RHEV.

What we should do is one of the following (I'd love to see them all implemented, with the user getting asked what to do):
1. replace dots (and other unsupported chars) with hyphens
2. stop conversion completely
3. ask for a VM name to be used on RHEV

Virt-v2v needs to run on the latest Red Hat Enterprise Linux release
to ensure it can correctly read and modify new guest filesystem
features.  A new version of virt-v2v is now available for RHEL 7.1.

Before RHEL 7.1 is released, follow the instructions here to
install unsupported preview packages on top of RHEL 7.0:

After RHEL 7.1 is released, virt-v2v will be available in
Technical Preview.

You can run virt-v2v in a single virtual machine.  Other
