Comment 1 RHEL Program Management 2012-10-02 18:51:12 UTC
This request was evaluated by Red Hat Product Management for
inclusion in the current release of Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
Because the affected component is not scheduled to be updated
in the current release, Red Hat is unable to address this
request at this time.

Red Hat invites you to ask your support representative to
propose this request, if appropriate, in the next release of
Red Hat Enterprise Linux.

Comment 2 Ray Strode [halfline] 2012-10-02 20:05:30 UTC
I assume step 2 is actually

2. ldd /usr/lib/libgnome-desktop-2.so |grep 'not found'

but anyway gnome-desktop doesn't use pixman directly, so if it's linking to it, it's linking to it indirectly. Does

rpm -q --requires cairo |grep pixman

return anything?

Uh sorry I paste wrong line.

rpm -q --requires cairo | grep pixman
libpixman-1.so.0()(64bit)
libpixman-1.so.0

Comment 4 Tomas Pelka 2012-10-03 08:08:37 UTC
So you think it is transitional dependency (or how is it called)? In that case it could be closed.

Thanks
Tom

Comment 5 Ray Strode [halfline] 2012-10-03 14:43:46 UTC
well, there's some mystery here. why wasn't pixman pulled in when you installed cairo ?

Comment 6 Tomas Pelka 2012-10-03 15:04:46 UTC
Well it is not a mistery since it is a stable system and anybody can unistall pixman for testing or so. We can close I believe.

Comment 7 Ray Strode [halfline] 2012-10-03 20:23:11 UTC
i don't know how they could without --nodeps, but you filed it, you get to say if it gets closed :-)
