I was playing with a Dell ST2220T touchscreen display. I also have a regular mouse. I may have been alternating between the two when the crash happened. (I'm reporting this with abrt-gui because the submission failed on the first go around. abrt-gui shows 10 X.org server crashes that I could report, all at the same minute.) Package: xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.12.3-2.fc17 OS Release: Fedora release 17 (Beefy Miracle) I don't understand the bug, but an interesting message in the Xorg.0.log is: [ 16028.790] BUG: triggered 'if (!(event->device_event.flags & (1 << 5)))' [ 16028.790] BUG: touch.c:625 in TouchConvertToPointerEvent() [ 16028.790] Non-emulating touch event Googling for the second line gets a few interesting hits: <https://trac.laptop.org/ticket/12215> <https://trac.laptop.org/ticket/12171> <http://lists.debian.org/debian-x/2012/03/msg00088.html> The second suggests that a later X server (xorg-x11-server-1.13.0-7.fc18) would prevent this. The first may be a repeat of the second. The third contains a suggested debian change (from Ubuntu) that actually gets rid of the function printing this message. xorg-x11-server-1.12.4-4.fc17 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 17. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/xorg-x11-server-1.12.4-4.fc17 Package xorg-x11-server-1.12.4-4.fc17: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days.
