Description Tim Waugh 2012-10-05 15:01:18 UTC
Description of problem:
One of the udev rules conflicts with a new rule needed to solve bug #862186.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
systemd-194-1.fc18

This is the line in question:

$ grep -n device.*printer\.target /lib/udev/rules.d/99-systemd.rules
48:SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="*:0701??:*", TAG+="systemd", ENV{SYSTEMD_WANTS}="printer.target"

The presence of this rule causes the system-config-printer "add" rule not to take effect:

# Low-level USB device add trigger
ACTION=="add", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="*:0701??:*", TAG+="systemd", ENV{SYSTEMD_WANTS}="configure-printer@usb-$env{BUSNUM}-$env{DEVNUM}.service"
# Low-level USB device remove trigger
ACTION=="remove", SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ENV{ID_USB_INTERFACES}=="*:0701??:*", RUN+="udev-configure-printer remove %p"

Oh, funny issue; we never really thought about overwriting earlier values with
our own rules.

This is supposed to fix it:
