Description of problem:

After instsallilng mate-desktop i dont have the option to change session in the logon screen (from gnome to mate)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

mate-desktop-1.4.1-11.fc18.i686


Steps to Reproduce:
1.open teminal and install mate-desktop
2.logoff
3.no selection of session is shown

To be clear you installed 'mate-desktop' *package* or 'mate-desktop' *group*?

Hint: only the latter will give you what you want, as the /usr/share/xsession/mate.desktop file is provided only my mate-session-manager package, which is a member of the mate-desktop comps/yum group.

To achieve that, do one of:

yum groupinstall "MATE Desktop"
yum groupinstall mate-desktop
yum install @mate-desktop
