Description Ales Kozumplik 2012-10-30 07:28:10 UTC
Due to an error on my side I pushed the hawkey update[1] a day later than DNF update which depends on it [2]. The F18 Beta freeze happened in between and now unless hawkey makes stable too, DNF is going to look broken in Beta. I am thus nominating [1] as a NTH---note that nothing besides DNF depends on it ATM.

Discussed at 2012-11-01 blocker review meeting: http://meetbot.fedoraproject.org/fedora-qa/2012-11-01/f18beta-blocker-review-6.5.2012-11-01-17.49.log.txt . Rejected as NTH: dnf is not on the DVD, so there is no need to fix this in the frozen package set. All users will get dnf from the repositories, so you can simply push the update stable when the freeze is lifted and all will be fine.

Adam,

I had one additional question about this: when is the freeze lifted? My concern is that all people who'll download the DVD and try to do 'yum install dnf' will get a dependnecy error. Or is the freeze lifted soon as Beta goes gold?

"Or is the freeze lifted soon as Beta goes gold?"

Right. There is a period between go/no-go and release when the repos are unfrozen and you can push updates stable to go out as '0-day'.

Looks like the freeze has been lifted for now for hawkey (all packages?), thank you.
