Description James Heather 2012-11-09 15:18:52 UTC
Description of problem:
I suspect this is the same bug as the one causing problems with mysql and postgresql: something has a home directory of /var/ftp, and when it attempts to log in (as a result of a hack attempt), it triggers an SELinux error.

Additional info:
libreport version: 2.0.18
kernel: 3.6.3-1.fc17.x86_64

:SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/sshd from 'search' accesses on the directory /var/ftp.
:
:***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests ***************************
:
:If you believe that sshd should be allowed search access on the ftp directory by default.
:Then you should report this as a bug.
:You can generate a local policy module to allow this access.
:Do
:allow this access for now by executing:
:# grep sshd /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol
:# semodule -i mypol.pp
