Description of problem: The latest updated (kernel 3.6.5-2.fc16) will not boot.

1. boot computer
2. select kernel 3.6.5-2.fc16

Actual results:


A kernel panc (see attachment) that mentions smp.c


Expected results:

normal boot


Additional info:

No problems with kernel 3.6.2-1.fc16

My laptop is an HP dv5 running 64-bit Fedora 16

Processor is an Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU     P8600

I found something on the web that implied that the initramfs may not have been generated properly.  I couldn't find any error messages in the yum log, but I went ahead and reinstalled anyway.  This fixed the problem.
