XFree86 log file
I have this exact same mouse as my main mouse, which I use all the time. It works just fine using the IMPS/2 protocol, including the wheel working, and even through a KVM switch (which is unsupported) on 4 computers. If I uses IMPS/2 the scroll wheel does not work unless the wheel button is depressed. This was my experience from day 1 with Phoebe and after. I just changed from MousemanPlus to IMPS/2, killed X and restarted, the scroll wheel does not work unless you push down and click it and scroll. I have been running RH 7.2 and above on this Dell P330, it was never necessary to depress the button to get the scroll wheel to work. Are their any other packages that could be affecting this? This box is rawhided quite a bit. Bugzilla is not a technical support forum. If you require technical support, join xfree86 and ask for help there. You have stated that a particular mouse does not work, and I have stated that it does in fact work for me. Unless I can reproduce the problem that you are seeing locally, then there is absolutely nothing that can be done about it on our end. And as stated above, this is my main mouse, which I use through a KVM switch on 4 separate computers. I do not know what your problem is, however it is not a problem on a clean Red Hat Linux 9 installation with no Rawhide components. Recommendation: Install Red Hat Linux 9, and if you have problems, join xfree86 and ask for help. I also recommend disabling gpm, and once you have configured X, reboot the computer completely before starting X. Closing again as WORKSFORME |
