For me the option is grayed out only when doc is empty and there is actually nothing to check. I believe this is fixed by rebased gedit. Cannot reproduce with gedit-3.14.3-1.el7.x86_64 According to comment 3, comment 4 and my verification in gedit-3.14.3-7.el7.x86_64 the bug is fixed. Also, the reproducer has been incorporated into our gedit test plan. Since the problem described in this bug report should be resolved in a recent advisory, it has been closed with a resolution of ERRATA.
