Did you create resolv.conf in the /etc/ppp directory and moved it to /etc? # restorecon -v /etc/resolv.conf will fix it. I didn't, but possibly when I installed SonicWall netExtender (VPN for SonicWall) this occurred. I've already done the restorecon -v /etc/resolv.conf and I will track SELinux alerts (running in permissive at the moment). If there are further alerts long these lines I will open a new bug. Thanks for the response. /mde/ |
Description of problem: This system has primarily wireless only as its access (laptop). One network is currently marked as a system network (should come up when the system does). I get multiple SELinux alerts with this arrangement. Most can be solved by doing a restorecon -v /etc/resolv.conf. This one requires (according to the SE Troubleshooter) a specific exception. I'm a bit concerned about this, in that it's unlinking /etc/resolv.conf. Additional info: libreport version: 2.0.18 kernel: 3.6.7-4.fc17.x86_64 description: :SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/NetworkManager from 'unlink' accesses on the file resolv.conf. : :***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests *************************** : :If you believe that NetworkManager should be allowed unlink access on the resolv.conf file by default. :Then you should report this as a bug. :You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. :Do :allow this access for now by executing: :# grep NetworkManager /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol :# semodule -i mypol.pp : :Additional Information: :Source Context system_u:system_r:NetworkManager_t:s0 :Target Context unconfined_u:object_r:pppd_etc_t:s0 :Target Objects resolv.conf [ file ] :Source NetworkManager :Source Path /usr/sbin/NetworkManager :Port <Unknown> :Host (removed) :Source RPM Packages NetworkManager-0.9.6.4-3.fc17.x86_64 :Target RPM Packages :Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.10.0-161.fc17.noarch :Selinux Enabled True :Policy Type targeted :Enforcing Mode Permissive :Host Name (removed) :Platform Linux (removed) 3.6.7-4.fc17.x86_64 #1 SMP Tue Nov : 20 19:40:01 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 :Alert Count 1 :First Seen 2012-11-29 15:04:13 PST :Last Seen 2012-11-29 15:04:13 PST :Local ID 2538692e-f33f-4bf7-abbd-721cfe8e867b : :Raw Audit Messages :type=AVC msg=audit(1354230253.93:96): avc: denied { unlink } for pid=728 comm="NetworkManager" name="resolv.conf" dev="dm-1" ino=1578765 scontext=system_u:system_r:NetworkManager_t:s0 tcontext=unconfined_u:object_r:pppd_etc_t:s0 tclass=file : : :type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1354230253.93:96): arch=x86_64 syscall=rename success=yes exit=0 a0=bd5ba0 a1=c28080 a2=32c1bb0778 a3=4af962 items=0 ppid=1 pid=728 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 tty=(none) ses=4294967295 comm=NetworkManager exe=/usr/sbin/NetworkManager subj=system_u:system_r:NetworkManager_t:s0 key=(null) : :Hash: NetworkManager,NetworkManager_t,pppd_etc_t,file,unlink : :audit2allow : :#============= NetworkManager_t ============== :allow NetworkManager_t pppd_etc_t:file unlink; : :audit2allow -R : :#============= NetworkManager_t ============== :allow NetworkManager_t pppd_etc_t:file unlink; :
