What text are you seeing in the pop-ups? There was no specific error message in the text balloons, just normal text. I noticed this after I had finished the final configuration, after dealing with all of the error messages that were described with the little yellow triangles. If memory serves correctly, once each specific menu item had been properly configured to allow the installation to proceed, the pop-up balloons only contained a comment that was essentially the same as the menu title to which they belonged. In the case that I had described, the contents of the pop-up balloons had been reversed between the "Installation Source" and "Software Selection" menus. Perhaps a better way to say it is that once I had the installation fully configured, everything looked OK until I moused over the boxes. when I moused over the "Installation Source" menu, the pop-up said "Software Selection", and when I moused over the Software Selection menu, the pop-up said "Installation Source." It would appear that there's a block of code somewhere where the strings for the contents of the pop-up balloons have been interchanged. Created attachment 662649 [details]

I tried reproducing this with Fedora-18-TC1-x86_64-DVD.iso. The most I could get is misplaced tooltips. The tooltips are displayed and hidden as expected when the pointer is moved over each of the spoke links, but they may appear over an unrelated spoke link.
Can you get a screenshot?
Tested with:
$ qemu-kvm -m 2048 -hda f18-test-1.img -cdrom ~/xfr/fedora/F18/F18-Final/TC1/Fedora-18-TC1-x86_64-DVD.iso -usb -vga qxl -boot menu=on -usbdevice mouse

That's what I was trying to describe. Thanks. We're unlikely to ever get around to fighting with GTK enough to tell it how to position popups, if you even can. I think there's a misconception here -- This isn't a case where GTK is improperly positioning pop-ups. It's a case where the pop-up is being correctly positioned; it's just been provided erroneous content. Created attachment 672568 [details]

This screenshot shows the root password tooltip on the wrong side of the window.
Is that GTK's fault too?
