Description of problem:
There is problem with XA recovery on database MSSQL 2008. Both supported versions (2008R1, 2008R2) suffer with it. This problem was fixed for MSSQL 2012 and XA recovery works nice for that version.
This problem was put to realease notes of EAP 6.0.0 [2] where is said that the problem occurs just for driver v3.0. That's not true.
It seems that the problem could not be directly on DB dide. 

Nevertheless. 
The XA recovery does not work properly for MSSQL 2008 not depended on version of driver. And this should be documented.
This problem is not cause by problem in jboss transaction manager but on mssql side.
