Fails silently? The relevant messages should have been printed to the screen *and* put into the log. The messages look like: Transaction test failed with the following problems [...] installing package iwl3945-firmware-15.32.2.9-16.fc18.noarch needs 100MB on the / filesystem Since that last message is in your log, I have to imagine it showed up on-screen as well. Also, it would have exited with a return code of '3' to indicate failure. So.. is that not what happened? Because I can't reproduce the problem myself. Will, I don't know what Thomas saw, but I had the same problem. Basically, fedup just stopped, didn't say to reboot or anything, and it was only when I looked in the log I found the messages. fedup-0.7.3-1.fc17 has been submitted as an update for Fedora 17. https://admin.fedoraproject.org/updates/fedup-0.7.3-1.fc17 Package fedup-0.7.3-1.fc17: * should fix your issue, * was pushed to the Fedora 17 testing repository, * should be available at your local mirror within two days.
