Description Livio 2013-01-20 15:43:52 UTC
Description of problem:

i've installed kernel-header but the 'version.h' file missed

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install kernel-headers-3.7.2-201.fc18.x86_64
2. from nvdidia-installer.log
ERROR: The kernel header file '/lib/modules/3.7.2-204.fc18.x86_64/build/include/linux/version.h' does not exist.
The most likely reason for this is that the kernel source files in '/lib/modules/3.7.2-204.fc18.x86_64/build' have
 not been configured.

3.

Actual results:

i can't start with nvidia driver

Expected results: update the kernel-header properly

Additional info: system crash with nouveau driver

You installed kernel-headers-3.7.2-201.fc18.x86_64, but the installer
wants 3.7.2-204.fc18.x86_64. Make sure the headers you installed match the
kernel you're running. Closing, this is not a bug.

Comment 2 Livio 2013-01-22 17:10:50 UTC
Shure i've installed both kernel-headers!
So i think that's a bug...

Comment 3 Josh Boyer 2013-01-22 17:13:29 UTC
It is a bug. It's a bug in the nvidia build tools. The file moved upstream, and nvidia needs to adapt to the 3.7 kernel with the UAPI changes. You'll need to work with them on that (and use google in the meantime for workarounds).
