I don't understand this part of the sentence.

Anyway, what exactly did you do? I mean: please describe how you typed in text in more detail, e.g. did you double click into the text area, did you use undo before?

Comment 13 Pavel Alexeev 2013-01-28 12:13:02 UTC
Xneur (https://apps.fedoraproject.org/packages/xneur) try catch X-input text and automatically change layout. It works in most cases, but together with Gimp it leads to crash Gimp.

Comment 14 Nils Philippsen 2013-01-28 13:52:13 UTC
Thanks for clearing this up.

I'd like to extend my original question: Aleksej, can you reproduce this bug, and if yes: how? Please post step-by-step instructions. Thanks.

Comment 15 Aleksej 2013-01-28 15:04:49 UTC
There are no problems, look.

Comment 16 Nils Philippsen 2013-01-28 16:53:54 UTC
Hmm I can't seem to reproduce it, see http://youtu.be/rR9zjejeguU (once YT is finished with processing it). Am I doing something differently? I don't speak Russian, so may all that is displayed are error messages ;-).

Comment 17 Nils Philippsen 2013-01-28 16:54:34 UTC
*maybe

Comment 18 Aleksej 2013-01-28 17:28:37 UTC
I am sorry, it is complex to me to answer. My actions are extremely simple and primitive. Look, I start GIMP from the console:

I use GIMP extensions: Gmic and FX-Foundry.
Probably, it is critical?

I don't know. What I meant is that I couldn't reproduce your issue, see the screencast video I linked. Can you spot anything I did differently than what you did?

Comment 21 Aleksej 2013-02-01 18:04:19 UTC
I don't know. It is complex to understand actions on video.

Comment 22 Fedora End Of Life 2013-12-21 10:52:00 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora 18 is nearing its end of life.
Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now Fedora will stop maintaining
and issuing updates for Fedora 18. It is Fedora's policy to close all
bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time
this bug will be closed as WONTFIX if it remains open with a Fedora
'version' of '18'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we may not be
able to fix it before Fedora 18 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior to Fedora 18's end of life.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 23 Fedora End Of Life 2014-02-05 18:32:28 UTC
Fedora 18 changed to end-of-life (EOL) status on 2014-01-14. Fedora 18 is
no longer maintained, which means that it will not receive any further
security or bug fix updates. As a result we are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of
Fedora please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. If you
are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against the
current release. If you experience problems, please add a comment to this
bug.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.
