Sorry but this doesn't sound like a problem with alsa-firmware. alsa-firmware contains firmware drivers for a very small number of specialist sound cards only. Your card is not one of them. Please be aware that problems with sound can be caused by many different software components within a Fedora system (including ALSA kernel modules, PulseAudio, desktop volume controls, individual applications and more) and you may find it easier to get some informal help to track down the problem before filing bugs (if necessary), so that you can file them against the right component and the appropriate person can help. I think it has been fixed after the recent update. But sorry that I still cannot figure out where the problem was. |
Created attachment 691795 [details] ran /usr/bin/alsa-info.sh, and there is the output file on the attachment. Description of problem: After the recent update, the the switch between headphones and speaker became very inconvenient. It cannot be auto switched. If I want to use my headphones, I have to change the sound volume a little bit after plugging in. Same as plugging in, after I pulling out my headphones, I have to change the sound volume a little bit in order to "active" the speaker. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): How reproducible: After the recent update, it happens every time. Steps to Reproduce: 1. update to recent 2. Plug in headphones 3. The headphones do not work, but the speaker still work. 4. Change the sound volume a litter, then it would be switched. Actual results: The headphones do not work, but the speaker still work, unless change the sound volume a litter bit. Expected results: After plug in headphones, the headphones should work, and the speaker should be muted automatically. Additional info: I ran /usr/bin/alsa-info.sh, and there is the output file on the attachment.
