Description Brownout 2013-02-20 12:10:35 UTC
Version: munin-2.0.11.1-1.fc18.noarch

Description of problem:
munin now has a webserver dependency, which automatically installs boa, this is not safe nor necessary.

Munin generates static html, a webserver is not required; users needing to access results remotely can install and configure a webserver of their choice.
Bringing in a daemon that can be exploited is not advisable, especially if such software is abandoned (no commits since 2005).

Comment 1 d. johnson 2013-02-20 18:06:54 UTC
Munin does require a webserver to function. You can use apache or nginx easily.

Comment 2 Brownout 2013-02-20 18:18:48 UTC
No, it doesn't.

You can browse the static html files locally.
It does require a webserver if:
* you run it in CGI mode
* you need to access graphs from other hosts
