screen shot showing mozilla issue
This shows the mozilla behavior
You haven't mentioned anything about what actual video hardware you are using. It is very unlikely that if this is a bug, that it happens for everyone on all hardware. Please provide full details of your system, and attach your X server log and config file. Also, does this only occur with mozilla, or does it occur with other apps. Please test many applications and list the names of some others that show this (if any). Thanks. Created attachment 91921 [details]
/proc/pci, X logs, X config file
Here is the requested info included in one file.
Like mentioned above when I first enter the desktop (login) whereever the cursor is I get a square about 4cmx4cm. This happens on the desktop or whatever application the cursor seems to be over at login. Mozilla so far is the only app that I get the wierd scrolling behaviour. I also just noticed this behavior. When an application changes screens I also get the 4cm square under the cursor. I will try and capture this for you. Individual uncompressed file attachments only please, so they can be viewed right in the web browser with a click. Created attachment 91933 [details]

Ok, this is probably a driver bug related to Xcursor changes. It's odd it only happens in mozilla though. Can you try using the following option in the Device section of your X congig file: Option "swcursor" if that doesn't change things, try Option "hwcursor" If still no go, then try Option "noaccel" Report back which if any of these options make any difference, and we'll troubleshoot further to try and narrow the problem down. I also notice another bug in the i740 driver in your log file, which I'll fix in the next build: Symbol vbeFree from module /usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/i740_drv.o is unresolved! Thanks. blizzard: Any reports of this nature against mozilla on other hardware? The only option which had any effect was the noaccel. So far it seems to have fixed the problem. Just to clarify the issue. At login I would get a 4cmx4cm splotch under the cursor. I have also notice issues with open office, including the screen freezing and not scrolling and refreshing. Since this bugzilla report was filed, there have been several major updates to the X Window System, which may resolve this issue. Users who have experienced this problem are encouraged to upgrade to the latest version of Fedora Core, which can be obtained from: http://fedora.redhat.com/download If this issue turns out to still be reproduceable in the latest version of Fedora Core, please file a bug report in the X.Org bugzilla located at http://bugs.freedesktop.org in the "xorg" component. Once you've filed your bug report to X.Org, if you paste the new bug URL here, Red Hat will continue to track the issue in the centralized X.Org bug tracker, and will review any bug fixes that become available for consideration in future updates. |
