Description Vitezslav Humpa 2013-02-26 16:46:02 UTC
Description of problem:
Using a 'brand new' user and a multi-head setting of two displays with the gnome-shell panel on the left, the screen casting stops right after it's start, producing a 0b video file.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
gnome-shell-3.6.2-6.el7.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new user, or rm all files in it's homedir. Have two displays ready.
2. Login to GNOME, the overview/gnome-shell panel should be on the left screen by default.
3. Try to start screencasting by pressing ctrl-alt-shift-R

Actual results:
You will see the recording symbol appearing for only a moment resulting in an empty webm file produced in ~/Videos. You can keep this on with screencasting crashing every time. If you change your display configuration, move the panel to the right or disable the second screen altogether, screencasting will function normally, even after switching the multihead setting back.

Expected results:
Recording at all times.

The terminal output of gnome-shell:

Recording to /home/test/Videos/Screencast from 02-26-2013 05:43:30 PM.webm
Window manager warning: Log level 16: Error in recording pipeline: Internal data flow error.

Window manager warning: Log level 8: recorder_record_frame: assertion `recorder->current_pipeline != NULL' failed
