I updated a default install in qemu-kvm of Fedora 18 to rawhide using yum.

After the update finished and  I had rebooted, I tried to change the host name
like this:

[root@Fedora-18-x86_64-netinst ~]# hostnamectl set-hostname Fedora-rawhide-x86_64
Failed to issue method call: Did not receive a reply. Possible causes
include: the remote application did not send a reply, the message bus
security policy blocked the reply, the reply timeout expired, or the
network connection was broken.
[root@Fedora-18-x86_64-netinst ~]#

After setting the SELinux mode to permissive, it worked:

[root@Fedora-18-x86_64-netinst ~]# setenforce 0
[root@Fedora-18-x86_64-netinst ~]# hostnamectl set-hostname Fedora-rawhide-x86_64
[root@Fedora-18-x86_64-netinst ~]# cat /etc/hostname
fedora-rawhide-x86_64
[root@Fedora-18-x86_64-netinst ~]#

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 19 development cycle.
Changing version to '19'.

(As we did not run this process for some time, it could affect also pre-Fedora 19 development
cycle bugs. We are very sorry. It will help us with cleanup during Fedora 19 End Of Life. Thank you.)

After installing Fedora 19 Alpha with selinux-policy-3.12.1-28:
# hostnamectl --static set-hostname kat.localhost.localdomain should work
but checking with less /etc/hostname only shows "localhost.localdomain"

Also:
# hostnamectl set-hostname kat.localhost.localdomain gives
Failed to issue method call: Access denied

Idem for the other variants. So it still does not work.
