Description of problem:
Booting a 3.9.0 kernel results in a total freeze of the system (I've tried them all). The caps lock light blinks. The reset button is needed to get the system alive again. Sometimes the bios is reset to its default values! The last fc19 (was rawhide) kernel that runs okay is 3.8.0-1.fc19.x86_64.

Note: I've reported this issue against the nouveau driver, because there is no nouveau kernel modesetting part. The kernel self has no issue. With nomodeset the llvm driver will be loaded.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
latest kernel: 3.9.0-0.rc2.git0.3.fc19.x86_64
xorg-x11-server-Xorg-1.14.0-1.fc19.x86_64
xorg-x11-drv-nouveau-1.0.6-6.fc19.x86_64

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot system
2.
3.

Actual results:
Frozen system with blinking caps lock

Expected results:
KDE's log in screen

Additional info:
There is no Xorg.0.log, dmesg output from the failed boot. :-)

I've tried to boot to text mode (3) without succes, 2) boot without 'quiet' and 'rhgb' without succes.

Hi,

I got rather sick of nvidia's bad behaviour, so I replaced my video card. Now I'm using AMD/ATI. Sorry that I no longer will test the nouveau driver. Please close this report.

Thanks for the great work in the past,

Martin Kho
