As requested i posted a simple open document file created with libreoffice 3.6.5.2 (Build ID: 3.6.5.2-8.fc18). 
The output of 'gsf-office-thumbnailer -i /home/francesco/test.odt -o /tmp/.gnome_desktop_thumbnail.MHMEUW -s 128' is:
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

The output of sestatus is:

downloaded the F18 x64 rpm from koji, installed and it fixed the issue for me

me too, but nautilus doesn't display thumbnails of documents created when the bug was active.

rename the file, it will show the thumbnail
then rename it back :-)

Package libgsf-1.14.26-4.fc19:
* should fix your issue,
* was pushed to the Fedora 19 testing repository,
* should be available at your local mirror within two days.
Update it with:
# su -c 'yum update --enablerepo=updates-testing libgsf-1.14.26-4.fc19'
as soon as you are able to.

Or perhaps run

    rm -f ~/.cache/thumbnails/fail/gnome-thumbnail-factory/*

and refresh the directory in Nautilus.
