Thanks for a bug report. This is the same issue as in yours bug #888172, thus I'm marking this as a duplicate of it. Please note that evolution 3.8.0 (to be in Fedora 19) has these things done differently, thus it's possible it'll work better.

It's still stuck in em_utils_contact_photo(). As I wrote above, it should be fixed with 3.8.0 (to be part of Fedora 19). Interesting on the backtraces is, from my point of view, that the source registry is idle, while calendar (not book) factory is waiting for a password prompt response.

Right, it's still in the em_utils_contact_photo(). It seems like you do not have the Edit->preferences->Mail Preferences->headers->Show contact photo..." (at the top) option unchecked, because this function is called only if the option is checked.
