Version 028 of mplus-fonts available from the repositories is three years and 2500 glyphs behind the latest release, 055. This package is very much in need of an update.

Source RPM's and SPEC files for the latest version are available here for those in a hurry, builds successfully. Koji test build for supported distributions complete successfully to.

I've put some measures in place to ensure this does not happen again. 
Will try and push the update through the proper fedora channels later during the day.
