Description Kumar Virwani 2000-02-19 07:35:37 UTC
The Kernel confugaration for the redhat kernel which is supplied with 6.1
(The cartman version) has a bug in the checksum it uses to calculate the
spped for the procesor for examploe the earlier kernel which was supplied
with the 6.0 version i.e hedwig version reported the speed for pII 233Mhz
processor as 596 MB/sec and used the same for further processing while the
cartman versio in 6.1 calculates the same as lesser than the p5_mmx and
uses the p5_mmx speed 545MB/sec for further processing.

which implies that I am underutilising my processror power when I am using
redhat 6.1 than when I am using redhat 6.1.
