Description of problem:
I can see several icons for example folder. How can I find out that it does open editor? There should be hint over the icon when mouse stays there for example two seconds or so.

The same with bookmarks, preferences, contents, etc. As a new user I am really missing this feature.

This was at least partially addressed upstream: https://git.gnome.org/browse/gnome-documents/commit/?id=39eecaae535547388c612f6a97b3ca91b0b680fb

Not sure if we can get this in 3.8.2, it adds at least one new string

Should be fixed by the rebase to 3.14.x.
