I have experienced this on many 'old' laptops. I could almost always track it down to some wierd BIOS lockup when hardware-detection was in process. Try to update the BIOS. Workaround: a) Use expert mode b) Use kickstart-install (and specify as many hardware components as you can!) Maybe an eMail to the manufacturer is a good idea too. This is not to say that the hardware-detection is perfect, but most problems I have experienced were on Laptops, and those usually have 'bug-prone' BIOS-implementations. |
