Comment 2 Fedora End Of Life 2015-01-09 18:08:09 UTC
This message is a notice that Fedora 19 is now at end of life. Fedora
has stopped maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora 19. It is
Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no
longer maintained. Approximately 4 (four) weeks from now this bug will
be closed as EOL if it remains open with a Fedora 'version' of '19'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, simply change the 'version'
to a later Fedora version.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora 19 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora, you are encouraged change the 'version' to a later Fedora
version prior this bug is closed as described in the policy above.

Although we aim to fix as many bugs as possible during every release's
lifetime, sometimes those efforts are overtaken by events. Often a
more recent Fedora release includes newer upstream software that fixes
bugs or makes them obsolete.

Comment 3 Jaroslav Reznik 2015-03-03 14:56:13 UTC
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora 22 development cycle.
Changing version to '22'.

More information and reason for this action is here:

Comment 4 Matthias Saou 2015-04-08 07:59:58 UTC
Note that with 3.0.0 this has only gotten worse :

-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 4475400 Mar 10 17:01 /usr/bin/mongo
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 13699968 Mar 10 17:01 /usr/bin/mongod
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 13461144 Mar 10 17:01 /usr/bin/mongoperf
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 8967664 Mar 10 17:01 /usr/bin/mongos
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 13514496 Mar 10 17:01 /usr/bin/mongosniff

Upstream has split out mongo-tools (dump, export, import, etc.), so those are currently missing from Fedora. And they all have been rewritten in Go... with the upstream mongodb-org-tools-3.0.1-1.el7.x86_64.rpm being 32MB (and ~110MB once installed) :-(

Comment 5 Marek Skalický 2015-04-08 12:30:22 UTC
Fedora 22 is going to have beta release, so it is late for this change and it is not so needed. Moving to rawhide.

In mongodb 3.0 in fedora rawhide mongo tools are split out. I plan to package mongo-tools in next days...

Size of these tools should be dealt with upstream - https://jira.mongodb.org/browse/TOOLS

Comment 6 Marek Skalický 2015-06-05 10:20:46 UTC
mongo-tools in Fedora have 13MB (~49MB installed).

Any problems with size of these tools should be dealt with upstream.

So closing as a NOTABUG. Feel free to reopen...
