Description Jan Pazdziora (Red Hat) 2013-07-01 13:06:14 UTC
Created attachment 767395 [details]
Screenshot of the dashboard

Description of problem:

The dashboard page has a horizontal scrollbar when the window is 1090 px wide. The scrollbar disappears only when the window is cca 1200 px wide. The WebUI should not require scrolling unless necessary.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Satellite 6 MDP1

How reproducible:

Deterministic.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Use Firefox and make the window cca 1090 pxs wide (for example by having tabs in the sidebar on 1280 px wide screen).
2. Log in to Satellite's dashboard.

Actual results:

Horizontal scrollbar.

Expected results:

No horizontal scrollbar especially when the page is not crowded with information.

Additional info:

Comment 1 Jan Pazdziora (Red Hat) 2013-07-01 13:15:07 UTC
On the dashboard, it is possible to scroll, horizontally, to see what's beyond the right edge.

However, viewing organization's details at

https://hostname/katello/organizations#/!=&panel=organization_spss&panelpage=edit

shows the same horizontal scrollbar but it then only scroll the white "background" information, not the organization's details. Which makes it unusable.

Too many vertical scrollbars

There's something wrong with the way the WebUI handles the canvas size even on the vertial level -- let me add it here even if feel free to move it to different bugzilla.

Notice how I get the vertical scrollbar even if there is enough space at the bottom, *plus* I get scrollbars on those of those tables, which obstructs the last one or two lines on each of them ... even if the full tables would comfortably fit into my screen, height-wise.

Since this issue was entered in Red Hat Bugzilla, the release flag has been
set to ? to ensure that it is properly evaluated for this release.

Comment 6 Walden Raines 2014-08-15 20:51:23 UTC
Created redmine issue http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/7120 from this bug

Comment 7 Walden Raines 2014-08-21 15:40:15 UTC
I cannot reproduce the issue on the about page but I can reproduce the issue on the content dashboard so I will fix that.

Comment 8 Bryan Kearney 2014-08-25 16:01:15 UTC
Moving to POST since upstream bug http://projects.theforeman.org/issues/7120 has been closed
