Doc Text:
Previously the command "less" wasn't working correctly. It produced a sequence of garbled characters when viewing the log or another file and it was hard to exit the current view page. This has been rectified using alias less "cat $1 | /usr/bin/less", so "less" works correctly now.

Agree this is bad/ugly. We should definitely try to fix it, though it's not quite as high a priority since we don't support dropping to a shell and running commands manually.

It's unlikely that this will make 6.5. It may be a fundamental problem with urwid, but no method I've attempted (switching VTs, different urwid screen renderers has resolved). Design problem.

How is urwid impacting this? we're in a shell environment, aren't we?

can we implement a simple workaround like:

alias less "cat $1 | /usr/bin/less"

We can do this, which is surprising. I hadn't tried it (unnecessary use of cat and all that), but it works. urwid throws a ton of escape codes if you `less /some/file`, but works if you cat it first. I'll go that way.

rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131017.0
ovirt-node-3.0.1-4.el6.noarch

Command "less" can work well.

So the bug is fixed, change bug status to VERIFIED.
