Description David Jaša 2013-07-24 13:15:13 UTC
Description of problem:
image attachments are not rotated according to exif and scaled down to fit message (pre)view width

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
evolution-2.32.3-13.el6.x86_64

How reproducible:
always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open a message with large-ish image attachment with orientation set in exif
2. expand the image preview
3.

Actual results:
image is diplayed at 1:1 ratio and in raw rotation

Expected results:
image gets rotated according to exif and scaled to fit the width

Additional info:
IIRC this is a regression from 2.28 but I'm not really sure about this

Comment 1 Matthew Barnes 2013-07-24 14:03:08 UTC
The image-inline plugin which handled EXIF rotation and scaling was not added until 2.30.

Comment 2 Milan Crha 2013-07-24 14:12:28 UTC
A test message would be helpful.

Comment 4 Milan Crha 2013-07-25 09:53:00 UTC
Thanks for the message, I can reproduce the issue with it, under 2.32.3. The 3.8.4 uses webkit, which does this correctly. The 2.32.x uses GtkImageView for image showing, and if not compiled with it, then some internal fallback code. The GtkImageView is not part of RHEL6, thus no luck, I'm sorry.
