Description of problem: The new Desk Switcher does not allow the user to simply 
mouse or drag windows between workspaces.  Dragging windows on the small Desk 
Switcher applet can be difficult when many workspaces are in use.  This was 
functionality present in RH7.3 and prior, which I miss greatly.

I think you're asking for a window manager function (dragging the window itself)
rather than a workspace switcher function.

If so, there is already a bug here:
