The display of the icons to the side are actually a function of GNOME. In RHEL 5, Gnome was set up to display them by default, but not in RHEL 6. If you want to see them in RHEL 6 run # gconftool-2 --type Boolean --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons True And to revert back # gconftool-2 --type Boolean --set /desktop/gnome/interface/menus_have_icons False |
