No settings widget to the right of the volume selector

Description of problem: There is no way to access the settings in Rhythmbox 2.99.1

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): 2.99.1

How reproducible: Start Rhythmbox on laptop with 1366x768 display

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start Rhythmbox on laptop with 1366x768 display
2.
3.

Actual results: No settings 'gear' appears to the right of the volume indicator where it is expected. See attachment screenshot.

Expected results: Settings 'gear' widget displays to the right of the volume indicator

Additional info: Sorry for the lack of information. I have noted this problem on two different laptops both with 1366x768 displays with a fresh install of Fedora 19. But not my desktop. If I forward Rhythmbox over ssh from the laptop to the desktop, then I will get the settings 'gear' selector. And in addition if I forward Rhythmbox from the desktop to the laptop the settings gear selector with then not display. Too weird. Is there anything more I can provide or do to debug this?

The settings widget also does not appear in a default install of F20 in a kvm machine. This makes Rhythmbox essentially unusable in such an environment.

Steps to reproduce:

1) Install F20 from Live CD using new machine wizard in Virtual Machine Manager.

2) Run Rhythmbox

Results:

There is no Settings widget to the right of the volume control

Expected results

There is a Settings widget to the right of the volume control
