Description Robert Hopson 2013-09-16 04:46:27 UTC
Description of problem:

Per https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=925891 libstatgrab was updated in EPEL; however bwm-ng requires libstatgrab.so.6()(64bit) while the new package provides libstatgrab.so.9()(64bit)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
Version     : 0.6
Release     : 6.el6.1

How reproducible:

Steps to Reproduce:
1. enable EPEL repository
2. yum install bwm-ng
3.

Actual results:

Error: Package: bwm-ng-0.6-6.el6.1.x86_64 (epel)
           Requires: libstatgrab.so.6()(64bit)

Expected results:

Additiona note: fedora package doesn't directly fit to epel6 - rhel6 still has net-tools instead of hostname to depend on.

Don't blame me too much. IMO this update shouldn't be pushed to el6 branch but unfortunately this update is not submmited by myself.

Fortunate coming is that libstatgrab 0.9 is stable enough for rebuild(I just tested at http://ur1.ca/fk9yy ). I will submit rebuild ASAP.

Uh, come on, Christopher! *You* are the maintainer, and you have spent the +1 in bodhi, too. There's a testing period and an updates policy for good reasons. There's no need to rush and unleash untested updates.

Hmmh. now there is bwm-ng-0.6-6.el6.2 without libsttgrab. Isn't that another error when libstatgrab was already downgraded?
