When JBDS IS 7.0.0.GA and FSW 6.0.0.GA are released, must remember to update this file [1] to reference the final version of the JBDS IS discovery plugin jar:

[1] https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0/devstudio-directory.xml

Sources (submit a PR or ping nboldt / pleacu for help):

Update - based on Sept 24 discussions:

For beta, we want the user to ONLY use this install path:

* Install JBDS7, and then:
* In JBoss Central, select JBDS-IS

@Len, in http://jbds-pm.etherpad.corp.redhat.com/ep/pad/view/jbds-pm-2013-Aug-15/rev.5890 on Aug 15, it was decided by Max, Burr, and Mustafa that there should NOT be Beta bits in a GA product:

"JBoss Central: GA bits ONLY - should avoid including Beta & Alpha content in Central unless there's *no other way to put features in front of customers* who desperately need it.

"GSS would rather not waste time answering calls about Alpha/Beta content in Central; if users install bits manually, it's more obvious that it's unsupported"

Therefore, the best process for installation of *RH JBDS IS 7.0.0.BetaX* tooling, in support of RH *JBoss FSW 6.0.0.BetaX* runtime, will be as follows:

 a) install JBDS 7.0.0.GA, 7.0.1.GA, or 7.1.0.AlphaX
 b) Help > Install > https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0-development/integration-stack/ > pick features > install.

(Documentation is in fact already on this page: https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0-development/integration-stack/ )

In December, the recommended process for installation of *RH JBDS IS 7.0.0.GA* tooling, in support of *RH JBoss FSW 6.0.0.GA* runtime, will be as follows:

 a) install JBDS 7.1.0.GA
 b) JBoss Central > Software/Update > pick features > install.

The following is the recommended FSW 6.0 Beta JBDSIS installation procedure:

   1. If installing from eclipse:
       Help > Eclipse Marketplace...
       - in the 'Search' tab enter 'jbds' in the 'Find' input widget
       - select the 'Go' button
       - install 'Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio 7.0.0.GA'

   2. Start jbdevstudio or eclipse-with-jbds, then:
       Help > Install New Software...
       Add...
       - use this for 'Location:'
         https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0-development/integration-stack/

N.B. - The above URL will be set once QE has completed vetting.

   Greetings -
The SOA-PM team and QE has approved JBDSIS for beta release.

The following is the recommended DV/FSW 6.0 Beta JBDSIS installation procedure:

   1. If installing from eclipse:
       Help > Eclipse Marketplace...
       - in the 'Search' tab enter 'jbds' in the 'Find' input widget
       - select the 'Go' button
       - install 'Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio 7.0.1.GA'

   2. Start jbdevstudio or eclipse-with-jbds, then:
       Help > Install New Software...
       Add...
       - use this for 'Location:'
         https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0-development/integration-stack/

   That's it.

Comment 9 Len DiMaggio 2013-10-11 15:28:06 UTC
David - where in the documentation will this be documented for the users? Thanks!

Comment 10 Nick Boldt 2013-10-11 15:51:21 UTC
How about on the right-hand since of this page (where it's already located) ?

https://devstudio.jboss.com/updates/7.0-development/integration-stack/

(Note that this is the first time I've ever seen the offering referred to as "eclipse-with-jbds" as opposed to "Eclipse with Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio (Core Features) installed" or "Red Hat JBoss Developer Studio Bring Your Own Eclipse", but otherwise the instructions above are valid. :D
