Description of problem: I get this denial every time I shutdown a VM that uses logical volumes as virtual disks. SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/mdadm from 'read' accesses on the blk_file dm-12. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that mdadm should be allowed read access on the dm-12 blk_file by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep mdadm /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:mdadm_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 Target Context system_u:object_r:svirt_image_t:s0:c766,c802 Target Objects dm-12 [ blk_file ] Source mdadm Source Path /usr/sbin/mdadm Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages mdadm-3.2.6-21.fc19.x86_64 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.12.1-74.3.fc19.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 3.11.1-200.fc19.x86_64 #1 SMP Sat Sep 14 15:04:51 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 4 First Seen 2013-09-23 11:12:03 CDT Last Seen 2013-09-23 11:12:03 CDT Local ID 2720f196-0b6c-4232-b92c-ec68850c23ad Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1379952723.331:664): avc: denied { read } for pid=27533 comm="mdadm" name="dm-12" dev="devtmpfs" ino=1493 scontext=system_u:system_r:mdadm_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 tcontext=system_u:object_r:svirt_image_t:s0:c766,c802 tclass=blk_file type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1379952723.331:664): arch=x86_64 syscall=open success=no exit=EACCES a0=7fff2f498bfe a1=4000 a2=a a3=0 items=0 ppid=27532 pid=27533 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 ses=4294967295 tty=(none) comm=mdadm exe=/usr/sbin/mdadm subj=system_u:system_r:mdadm_t:s0-s0:c0.c1023 key=(null) Hash: mdadm,mdadm_t,svirt_image_t,blk_file,read Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.1.7 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 3.11.1-200.fc19.x86_64 type: libreport
