Description of problem: Python 3 has a new representation of sets (e.g. {1, 2, 3} instead of set([1, 2, 3]) but the ipython3 console displays the old (2.x) representation. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): python3-ipython-0.13.2-1.fc19.noarch How reproducible: Easily. Steps to Reproduce: 1. "ipython3" 2. "set([1, 2, 3])" 3. "repr(set([1, 2, 3]))" 3. "{1, 2, 3}" 4. "repr({1, 2, 3})" Actual results: >>> set([1, 2, 3]) set([1, 2, 3]) >>> repr(set([1, 2, 3])) '{1, 2, 3}' >>> {1, 2, 3} set([1, 2, 3]) >>> repr({1, 2, 3}) '{1, 2, 3}' Expected results: >>> set([1, 2, 3]) {1, 2, 3} >>> repr(set([1, 2, 3])) '{1, 2, 3}' >>> {1, 2, 3} {1, 2, 3} >>> repr({1, 2, 3}) '{1, 2, 3}' Additional info: Doing this in python3 works as expected, I can only guess that ipython(3) uses its own code instead of repr().

This seems to work as expected at least in the git version of ipython (haven't tested with the version 1.0 so far). It can take a while, till we can update ipython on Fedora, as we have to unbundle quite a few javascript stuff of the notebook first...
