Hello. dieharder license is problematic. Please see debian bug number "723103" datails. I think that this package be affected by debian bug number "723103". Suggests: 1. Remove non-free files and rebuild. 2. Replace fedora free (fedora acceptable licensed) files. 3. Remove fedora repos. Thanks. Blocking FE-Legal, This is license probllem.
Hi, I have checked the license http://ftp-master.metadata.debian.org/changelogs/main/d/dieharder/dieharder_3.31.1-4_copyright ==================================================================== License is granted to build or use the accompanying software: dieharder according to the following standard Gnu General Public License or any later versions, with the one minor "Beverage" modification listed below. Note that this modification is probably not legally defensible and can be followed really pretty much according to the honor rule. As to my personal preferences in beverages, red wine is great, beer is delightful, and Coca Cola or coffee or tea or even milk acceptable to those who for religious or personal reasons wish to avoid stressing my liver. The "Beverage" Modification to the GPL Any user of this software shall, upon meeting the primary author(s) of this software for the first time under the appropriate circumstances, offer to buy him or her or them a beverage. This beverage may or may not be alcoholic, depending on the personal ethical and moral views of the offerer. The beverage cost need not exceed one U.S. dollar (although it certainly may at the whim of the offerer:-) and may be accepted or declined with no further obligation on the part of the offerer. It is not necessary to repeat the offer after the first meeting, but it can't hurt... which is followed by the text of the GNU GPL, Version 2, June 1991 ==================================================================== I don't see any problem with it. In fact, debian bug (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?archive=no&bug=723103) has come to tjis conclusion as well: The way I read the licence is that the author thinks it would be nice to get a drink offered, so really, sounds fine to me. "Intention of the clause".. I rpopose to close this bug. Any objections? Jirka
