Description of problem: SELinux is preventing /usr/sbin/NetworkManager from 'search' accesses on the directory ppp. ***** Plugin catchall (100. confidence) suggests *************************** If you believe that NetworkManager should be allowed search access on the ppp directory by default. Then you should report this as a bug. You can generate a local policy module to allow this access. Do allow this access for now by executing: # grep NetworkManager /var/log/audit/audit.log | audit2allow -M mypol # semodule -i mypol.pp Additional Information: Source Context system_u:system_r:NetworkManager_t:s0 Target Context system_u:object_r:pppd_var_run_t:s0 Target Objects ppp [ dir ] Source NetworkManager Source Path /usr/sbin/NetworkManager Port <Unknown> Host (removed) Source RPM Packages NetworkManager-0.9.8.2-9.git20130709.fc19.x86_64 Target RPM Packages Policy RPM selinux-policy-3.12.1-74.9.fc19.noarch Selinux Enabled True Policy Type targeted Enforcing Mode Enforcing Host Name (removed) Platform Linux (removed) 3.11.4-201.fc19.x86_64 #1 SMP Thu Oct 10 14:11:18 UTC 2013 x86_64 x86_64 Alert Count 8 First Seen 2013-10-16 17:37:26 BST Last Seen 2013-10-17 00:38:45 BST Local ID 581262fd-efde-471b-99f0-f9c9a79b1c0a Raw Audit Messages type=AVC msg=audit(1381966725.163:23): avc: denied { search } for pid=672 comm="NetworkManager" name="ppp" dev="tmpfs" ino=14940 scontext=system_u:system_r:NetworkManager_t:s0 tcontext=system_u:object_r:pppd_var_run_t:s0 tclass=dir type=SYSCALL msg=audit(1381966725.163:23): arch=x86_64 syscall=stat success=no exit=EACCES a0=7f0fd8ec6376 a1=7fff917b6010 a2=7fff917b6010 a3=7f0fdd01503c items=0 ppid=1 pid=672 auid=4294967295 uid=0 gid=0 euid=0 suid=0 fsuid=0 egid=0 sgid=0 fsgid=0 ses=4294967295 tty=(none) comm=NetworkManager exe=/usr/sbin/NetworkManager subj=system_u:system_r:NetworkManager_t:s0 key=(null) Hash: NetworkManager,NetworkManager_t,pppd_var_run_t,dir,search Additional info: reporter: libreport-2.1.8 hashmarkername: setroubleshoot kernel: 3.11.4-201.fc19.x86_64 type: libreport
