Description of problem: The slideshow of images shown at the bottom of the installation screen have a format nearly identical to web banner ads, making them look like unwanted advertising rather than useful information. Most users will have developed a mental filter for this size and shape of changing image owing to the prevalence of banner ads on the web. Actual results: User ignores the slideshow, and/or is subconsciously annoyed by what looks like advertising even before the completion of installation. Expected results: User enjoys learning more about Fedora during installation. Additional info: For a counterpoint, see Ubuntu's installation slideshow. In their case the large squarer-format images don't resemble banner advertising at all, and also provide a much better space to showcase e.g. applications, websites.
That's just, like, your opinion, man
It's disappointing to have a bug closed like this without the substance of the bug (opinion or not) being addressed. What would make this feedback worthy of more than a one-line bug close? Is there some structured feedback system to which I could contribute my opinion that would give some collective weight to what I've said in the event that I'm not the only one who thinks this?
