Last modified: 2014-01-21 14:55:15 EST
Description of problem: Blank page will show after switch to logging menu. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131018.1.3.2.el6 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. Install rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131018.1.3.2.el6 2. Login RHEV-H. 3. Move to Logging menu. Actual results: Blank page will show after switch to logging menu. User can't set rsyslog and netconsole. Expected results: Logging menu can show correct info. Additional info: No such info on rhev-hypervisor6-6.4-20131016.0.el6_4 version, so it is a regression bug.
Joey, can you look into this? (6.4 ovirt-node on rhel 6.5)
Test version: rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131029.0.3.2.el6 ovirt-node-2.5.0-17.el6_4.11.noarch Test steps: 1. Clean install rhevh-6.4-20131016.0.el6_4.iso. 2. Upgrade rhevh6.4 to rhev-hypervisor6-6.5-20131029.0.3.2.el6. 3. Enter Logging page. Test result: 1. After step3, it turn to blank page when enter logging page. So this bug is not fixed in rhevh-6.4-20131016.0.el6_4.iso.
According to comment#7, I will change the status from POST to ASSIGNED.
The problem is the following: the logrotateconf.d/ovirt-node file in 6.4 is slightly different than the one in 6.5. The augeas lense in 6.4 is fine with the 6.4 conf file, but the 6.5 lense has problems with the 6.4 conf file. The logrotateconf file is persisted once a log setting is changed, this leads to a situation wher a 6.4 conf file appears in 6.5 where the augeas lense doesn't work with the old conf file.
