Are you using Fedora 17 or Fedora 18? Do the printers disappear while you are using system-config-printer, or at another time?

Sorry for the late, I'm using fedora 17 and the printers gone erased suddenly for example: and a energy blackout or the computer working and bufff erased without explication, is more common when exists ipp printers

Comment 3 Tim Waugh 2013-10-29 15:13:44 UTC
It sounds like this could be related to the issue addressed by the new SyncOnClose option. This was added in cups-1.6.3-8.fc19.

Are the queues you use for locally-attached printers, or are you using another CUPS server on the network?

Comment 4 juan ortiz 2013-10-29 17:58:07 UTC
Some printers are attach locally like epson fx890 usb with raw driver and ipp printers

Comment 5 Tim Waugh 2013-10-30 11:26:56 UTC
OK, it definitely sounds like the SyncOnClose issue then.

As Fedora 17 is no longer getting updates, the next thing is for you to let us know if you still see this problem in Fedora 19 with cups-1.6.3-8.fc19.

Comment 6 juan ortiz 2013-10-30 15:24:33 UTC
Well, I just have installed the fedora 19 just for test not intended to be you used on working environment, i hope that fedora 19 has already resolved the problem that the printers are erased suddenly

Comment 7 Tim Waugh 2013-10-30 16:08:41 UTC
Please adjust the "SyncOnClose" option by putting "SyncOnClose Yes" in /etc/cups/cups-files.conf.

Comment 8 juan ortiz 2013-10-30 16:20:31 UTC
As soon I can y gonna try that option and let you know the results, thanks I hope my problem is resolve.

Comment 9 juan ortiz 2013-10-31 19:35:20 UTC
i add this line to the

SyncOnClose Yes on the:

/etc/cups/cups-files.conf

the problem is when i restart my cups service it shows this output:

Redirecting to /bin/systemctl restart cups.service

Message from syslogd@util at Oct 31 15:33:11 ...
cupsd: Unable to read "/etc/cups/cups-files.conf" due to errors.

Did you apply updates on the Fedora 19 system? What does 'rpm -q cups' say?

Comment 11 juan ortiz 2013-11-01 12:12:13 UTC
im sorry i edited the file but in fedora 17, that is for the 19 ?

Comment 12 Tim Waugh 2013-11-01 13:09:09 UTC
It is for Fedora 19. Fedora 17 will no longer receive updates.
