Description of problem:
If you install

rpm -Uhv openhbci-0.9.13-1.RH8.i386.rpm gnucash-ofx-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm
gnucash-hbci-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm gnucash-devel-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm
gnucash-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm
preparing...                ########################################### [100%]
   1:gnucash                ########################################### [ 20%]
Killed

rpm hangs and you need to scrub the __db* files and rebuild the rpm database.

This sequence is ok 

rpm -Uhv gnucash-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm gnucash-devel-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm
gnucash-hbci-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm openhbci-0.9.13-1.RH8.i386.rpm
gnucash-ofx-1.8.5-1.RH8.0.i386.rpm

This looks like stale lock from rpm-4.1-1.06.

Upgrade to rpm-4.1.1 packages from
    ftp://ftp.rpm.org/pub/rpm/dist/rpm-4.1.x
