Description Alex Dellapenta 2013-11-14 20:50:47 UTC
Description of problem:

Recent updates to the OSE installer scripts have rendered some of the Note boxes in the 1.2.1 Deployment Guide inaccurate when referencing script functions. "4.4. Kickstart and Bash Scripts" links to the following latest 1.2 scripts:

https://raw.github.com/openshift/openshift-extras/enterprise-1.2/enterprise/install-scripts/openshift.ks

https://raw.github.com/openshift/openshift-extras/enterprise-1.2/enterprise/install-scripts/generic/openshift.sh

For example, the Note box at the end of "5.2.2.3. Configuring Host Name Resolution" mentions the "update_resolv_conf_on_broker" function, which no longer exists (and should instead refer to "configure_dns_resolution", in this case). There are other similar instances throughout the step-by-step instructions.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Deployment Guide 1.2.1

Relevant updates were made for the OSE 2.0 release, which is now live[1]. The work is done for 1.x, but is waiting for a future 1.x book update for release.

Comment 7 Alex Dellapenta 2014-12-11 19:23:39 UTC
The OSE 1 documents were removed from the Customer Portal when OSE 1 went EOL in Nov 2014 (see https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/openshift). Since the work for this BZ was done already for the OSE 2 docs, closing this BZ.
