Description of problem: 1) the 'install to hard drive' icon and menu fail. 2) WHen I run liveinst from a terminal, I get an error: root being added to access control list Inhibit all polling failed: did not receive a reply. Then the command exited. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): beta-5 How reproducible: 100% Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: failed Expected results: install to hard drive Additional info: this is with an ibm t40p notebook with 1gb of ram. I have successfully installed mageia 3 to the notebook.
It would be nice if this bug was addressed, as it keeps LXDE from being installed to the hard drive. I am not sure it is an anaconda issue, but I don't know the best categorization for it.
I just tested the installation with Fedora-Live-LXDE-x86_64-20-TC4.iso and it works as expected.
It doesn't work on my hardware, though mageia and windows xp installs and runs flawlessly. This is also the 32 bit version I am reporting the bug on, not the 64 bit version. The 64 bit version works fine for me on vmware, so I agree it is ok with 64 bits and different hardware.
Not OK on 64 bit. I deleted my drive completly with cfdisk, started the installer and it came up. Had to reboot - now the installer does not come up, with the same message: Inhibit all polling failed... (when i start liveinst from command line). I will restart now and see if that fixes it
This is btw. stable, not rawhide nor beta or such!
Hi, I have that same problem over stable livecd, i can run the liveinst program after update polkit package: yum install polkit (over livecd)
Updating polkit worked for me (it was already installed) System: P4 @ 2.4Ghz, 2GB DDR, 30GB IDE HDD, Fedora 20 LXDE Spin 32bit - Live CD
