Created attachment 831565 [details] Screenshot Hello! I installed the Beta of the upcoming Fedora 20 using the netinstall cd. This usually grabs the recent updates from the mirrors, so the installation has some of the most recents packages. I also issued a yum update afterwards to grab remaining new packages. I detected that gnome-shell is in an unusable state by showing massive graphic artifacts on the desktop. Everything seem to be out of sync. The background turns instantly into white. Applications when moved around copy onto the background (see screenshot). Also when running mplayer together with any movie (regardless what) the movie quickly turns out of sync (sound doesnt match with graphics). The graphicard runs in direct rendering, no software rendering. Any recomendations howto solve this issue ? If there is no quick solution then I need to downgrade back to Fedora 18
I'd like to inform, that I still have this issue with the final Fedora 20 release. This is quite annoying and I would at least know whether this is a known issue. Fedora runs on a Lenovo E325 Notbeook with E450 APU 00:01.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Wrestler [Radeon HD 6320] I will provide further information if necessary.
Does it still happen if you upgrade the kernel to 3.12.x?
Yes it still happens with 3.12.x. But I am sure that this is NOT a kernel issue. There are only parts of the Gnome-Shell that gets affected by this behaviour. The top bar is not affected by the problem and as soon as I press ALT+F2 and then 'r' in the command prompt of the Gnome-Shell the behaviour disappears until reboot. I also reported to BGO: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=721156
Looks like this bug has been fixed due recent new packages. If the bug shows up again, I will reopen as new.
